Rose Robson
@roserobson (b. Yorkshire, UK, 1988) is currently in residency at Palazzo Monti in Brescia, Italy.
Since graduating in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins in 2012, Rose has been interested in subverting traditional taxidermy, using abstract forms to ensure the creations are curious, subtle and complex. Her penchant for taxidermy - especially manipulating and reassembling bird forms into 'new' bodies and objects - calls on the viewer's ability to recognise and empathise with potential new identities. The finished work has a deliberate 'otherness', cultivated to ensure that the pieces stand apart from normal experiences of the world.
Rose has exhibited in New York, Japan, Denmark and London and has been featured in British Vogue, FT How To Spend It, Vice, AnOther Magazine, The Guardian, The Observer, Wonderland and Metal Magazine.
Past collaborators include Yabu Pushelberg, SHOWstudio and Rebecca Louise Law.
